CASH FOR WORK (CFW)

Government through Ministry of Local Government and Rural Develop­ment has allocated more than K800,000 per month under the CASH for WORK program to assist Kaoma District communities that have been severely impacted by drought-related hunger. CASH for WORK initiative provides financial support to those in need in exchange for labour.

ELEGIBILITY

  1. Households not currently benefiting from Social Cash Transfer.
  2. Individuals who are not in formal employment.
  3. Individuals between the age of 18 to 59 years.
  4. One must register for CASH for WORK within the Constituency in which they reside.
  5. Individuals not receiving relief food.

Note: Identification of beneficiaries will be done through WDCs, CWACs and Community Satellites (SDMCs).

WORKS TO BE NDERTAKEN

  1. Vegetation control, pothole patching, drainage clearing and road main­tenance.
  2. Garbage collection.
  3. Molding and transportation of bricks for construction of community projects.
  4. Construction and rehabilitation of community toilets
  5. Environmental restoration such as erosion control.
  6. Floods control infrastructure.
  7. Cleaning of public places such as markets.
  8. Construction of communal grain storage facilities.
  9. Construction of fire defense in communal grazing lands
